Juice Shots for a Quick Pick-Me-Up

Beats dropping ten bucks at the health food store.

An acquaintance of mine swears by health shots. At least once a week, she picks up one to three bottles of turmeric blend from our local healthy place. Now, if I were to judge those things purely by the face she makes after downing one, I’d be skeptical, but then again, the best things for us often taste at least a little funky. With that in mind, here are a few quick juice shots you can make at home!

If you’re looking for fiber and antioxidants with an anti-inflamatory kicker, try a lemon, ginger, and cucumber shot. 1 teaspoon minced ginger, 1 juiced lemon, and 1 small cucumber with skin in the blender on high for a minute.

If you’re feeling a little low in vitamins A and C, try a beet and carrot blend. 1 small washed and peeled beet, 3 leaves of washed beet greens, and a small unpeeled carrot in a blender on high for a minute, along with a fourth cup of water.

If you really want to get some serious antioxidants, you can’t go wrong with an apple and turmeric shot. You just need 1 medium-sized apple and a teaspoon of minced turmeric. Blend that stuff on high for a minute.
