Some love the gym, some don’t.

It’s no secret that there are some people who live for going to the gym. However, there are also others who try to avoid it at all costs and only go when it is completely necessary. For those people, here are some gym etiquette tips you should live by when going to your nearest gym.

Ask before jumping in:
Depending on when you decide to hit the gym, it may get crowded. Especially during those peak hours, so you won’t be the only one trying to use the equipment. So when you find someone using a piece of equipment you’d also like to use, ask them if you can work in. “You’d want people to do it to you if you were using something,” says one avid gym user. “And taking the time to be polite can encourage the spirit of sharing, making everyone’s time in the gym more pleasant.”

Know your surroundings:
Reading the room is important, even when you’re in the gym. If you’re a screamer then working out at a high-end boutique gym probably isn’t the best place for you. You’ll probably want to work out at a place that has a more grungy look and is frequented by more bigger dudes who look like they’re training for the next body competition.
