Celebrity diets are often hit-or-miss.
When fans weren’t losing their minds over Beyoncé’s Netflix documentary Homecoming, they were freaking out about the extreme diet she put herself on to get into shape for her history-making Coachella performance. The singer is now sharing her 22-day diet plan and some people are not happy about it.
In a video shared in collaboration with 22 Days Nutrition, the singer was seen weighing herself on “day one of rehearsals” ahead of her 2018 performance at Coachella. Calling the scale weighing “every woman’s nightmare” it was revealed that she weighed 175 pounds with a “long way to go” before she’s in performance shape.
The fitness journey came after the “unexpected” pregnancy of twins Sir and Rumi Carter and included a 100 percent plant-based diet. 22 Days Nutrition founder Marco Borges explained that during the 22-day meal plan people experience higher energy, better moods, more sleep, and improved complexion.
Like most celebrity-endorsed diets, many people weren’t pleased by the singer promoting what some consider a dangerous weight loss program. “Y’all know I love Beyonce. Perhaps a little too much. But, I’m disappointed to hear her calling her weight post-twins every “woman’s nightmare”, and promoting a VERY restrictive diet,” one Twitter user wrote.
